This project was a long-time brewing. We had this old service-body truck saved for just the right project. Although we had all sorts of ideas, the hen house idea was the winner.
By converting the body to a hen house that was on a old trailer frame, we could move it around in the pasture.
As you can see from our video, it’s parked next to some hay bales. We didn’t factor in how dangerous it was putting the hen house there (too much cover for predators). Yes, we did lose a few chickens.
This summer, we hope to add a chicken run to give them some more needed projection from racoon and coyotes.
